2018-19

In the academic year 2018-2019, the essay competition is scheduled to start shortly. The theme for the 2018-19 edition is “Lessons for Modern India from Mahatma Gandhi’. and It is targeted to reach out to 300 schools in 10 cities,

The cities are:

1) Barpeta 2) Dibrugarh 3) Darrang 4) Guwahati (Kamrup) 5) Jorhat 6) Tinsukia 7) Lakimpur /Tejpur 8) Nalbari 9) Sibsagar 10) Sonitpur

 

2017-18

The 5 th edition of the competition in the Assamese language is targeting participation of 120000 students across 10 cities and 300 schools in Assam. The theme for this year's competition is "New India @ 70 and your Contribution".

17-18-City level winners are identified and felicitated ,The process of evaluation for selecting National level winners are in progress.

The cities are:

1) Guwahati (Kamrup) 2) Dibrugarh 3) Tinsukia 4) Dhubri 5) Nagaon 6) Nalbari 7) Bongaigaon 8) Barpeta 9) Morigaon 10) Lakhimpur

 

2016-17

The 4th edition of the competition in the Assamese language witnessed a participation of 132628 students across 10 cities and 300 schools in Assam.

16-17-The National winners were felicitated on 14th Feb 2019 in an event in New Delhi and met the Hon. President of India. Please visit the Images gallery and winner essay section for more details.

2015-16

The 3rd edition of this competition in the Assamese languages has reached to 117000 students,10 cities and 300 schools in Assam. The City level winners are being Identified and will be felicitated at Guwahati along with winners of Other languages. The theme for 2015-16 competition was "Digital Technology for a Better India".

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, and senior leaders from the Tata group, with the national winners of the 2015-16 edition of ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on January 12, 2018.

The national winners of the 2015-16 edition of Tata Building India School Essay Competition got a chance to meet the Honorable President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi and got a once in lifetime opportunity to take a tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 12, 2018.

The young achievers were further felicitated by Mr. Harish Bhat, Brand Custodian, Tata Sons Ltd at a function held on the same day in New Delhi.

2014-15

The 2nd edition of this competition in the Assamese language reached nearly 60 thousand students have participated across 6 cities and 150 schools in Assam. The theme for 2014-15 competition was "Clean India".

National winners been felicitated on 8 th Dec 2016 at New Delhi.

The winners were felicitated in Guwahati along with winners of Other languages

2013-14

The 1st edition of this competition in the Assamese language nearly 90 thousand students participate across 10 cities and 300 schools in Assam. The cities are:

7) Marigaon 8) Dibrugarh 9) Duliajan 10) Nagaon

 

The City level winners were felicitated function organised at Guwahati.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. P.J. Baruah said, “The Tata Building India School Essay Competition by the Tata group is truly a commendable platform as it inculcates good writing skills in students. Writing skills inculcated at a young age, stay and grow with children, helping them in their future careers. Such competitions reinforce the habit of good writing and also encourage creative thinking towards nation building leading to the overall growth and progress of the nation.”

The National Level winners for 2013-14 were felicitated on 4 th Dec. 2015 at New Delhi. The theme for 2013-14 competition was "Happy & Prosperous Nation"
