2018-19

In the academic year 2018-2019, the essay competition is scheduled to start shortly. The theme for the 2018-19 edition is “Lessons for Modern India from Mahatma Gandhi’. and It is targeted to reach out to 500 schools in  14 cities-set of cities,

2017-18

In the 9 th edition of this competition is targeting to reach participation of 1,60,000 students across 12 cities (set of cities) and 400 Bengali medium schools in West Bengal.the theme for this year's competition is "New India @ 70 and your Contribution".

17-18-City level winners are identified and felicitated ,The process of evaluation for selecting National level winners are in progress.

2016-17

In the 8 th edition of this competition in the Bengali language witnessed a participation of 209784 students across 12 cities and 400 Bengali medium schools in West Bengal .

16-17-The National winners were felicitated on 14th Feb 2019 in an event in New Delhi and met the Hon. President of India. Please visit the Images gallery and winner essay section for more details.

The theme for this year's competition is 'Global Warming and Climate Change'

City level winners were felicitated in an event held in Kolkata

2015-16

In the 7 th edition of this competition in the Bengali language has touched 12 cities and 400 Bengali medium schools in West Bengal. The city level winners have been felicitated at Kolkata.

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, and senior leaders from the Tata group, with the national winners of the 2015-16 edition of ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on January 12, 2018.

The national winners of the 2015-16 edition of Tata Building India School Essay Competition got a chance to meet the Honorable President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi and got a once in lifetime opportunity to take a tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 12, 2018.

The young achievers were further felicitated by Mr. Harish Bhat, Brand Custodian, Tata Sons Ltd at a function held on the same day in New Delhi.

2014-15

The 2014-15 Edition of the essay competition was not conducted in West Bengal due to operational reasons.

 

2013-14

In the 6 th edition of this competition in the Bengali language. Nearly 1.6 lakh students participate across 12 cities and 400 Bengali medium schools in West Bengal.The theme for 2013-14 competition was "Happy & Prosperous Nation". The City level winners were felicitated at a function organized at Kolkata. The National Level winners for 2013-14 were felicitated on 4 th Dec. 2015 at New Delhi. The National winners got an opportunity to meet the President and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.

2012-13

The 5th edition of this competition in the Bengali language launched in September 2012. Nearly 1.6 lakh students participated across 12 cities and 400 Bengali medium schools in West Bengal. The theme for 2012-13 competition was "Science & Technology for India".The City level winners were felicitated at a function organized at Kolkata. The National Level winners for 2012-13 were felicitated on 4 th Dec. 2015 at New Delhi. The National winners got an opportunity to meet the President and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.

2011-12

The 4th edition of this competition in Bengali language was launched in October, 2011. Over 1.3 lakh students participated across 12 group of cities and 400 schools. The theme for 2011-12 competition was "Clean and Green Nation". The winners at city level were felicitated at Kolkata in June 2012.The National winners got an opportunity to meet the President on 2nd April 2013 and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.

2010-11

The 3rd edition of this competition in the Bengali language was launched in September 2010. Nearly 1 lakh students participated across 14 groups of cities and about 360 schools.

The city level winners were felicitated in November 2011. The National winners got an opportunity to meet the President on 2nd April 2013 and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.

 

2009-10

The second edition of the Bengali edition of this competition was conducted in 14 cities where around 1 lakh students from 300+ Bengali medium schools participated. Two regional felicitation events were conducted where the city winners were felicitated. Finally, 2009-10 state level winners from West Bengal along with winners from 6 languages were jointly felicitated at a gala function by Dr. E. Sreedharan at Delhi.

 

2007-08

Inspired by the encouraging words of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and the tremendous response received from the schools in the first year, the Tata group of companies extended the competition in 2007-08 to Bengali medium schools across West Bengal. In the first year, the competition attracted participation of nearly 1 lakh students from 300 schools across 11 districts. The city level winners were felicitated in an award ceremony in all these 8 locations which was covered well by local media also. The state winners of the Bengali essay competition along with their counter-parts from the English and Hindi essay competitions for 2007-08 were felicitated by the Honorable President Mrs. Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The children along with the parents spent some time with the President and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.
