2018-19

In the academic year 2018-2019, the essay competition is scheduled to start shortly. The theme for the 2018-19 edition is “Lessons for Modern India from Mahatma Gandhi’. and It is targeted to reach out to 625 schools and  in 17 cities-set of cities,

The cities are:

2017-18

In the 9 th edition of the competition in the Gujarati language is targeting to reach participation of 3,10,000 students across 17 cities (set of cities) and 625 schools.the theme for this year's competition is "New India @ 70 and your Contribution".

17-18-City level winners are identified and felicitated ,The process of evaluation for selecting National level winners are in progress.

2016-17

In the 8 th edition of the competition in the Gujarati language witnessed a participation of 2,16,644 students across 14 cities (set of cities) and 500 schools

2015-16

In the 7 th edition of the competition in the Gujarati language has touched 14 cities (set of cities) and 500 schools reaching out to 2,17,953 students. The city level winners have been felicitated in Ahmedabad along with winners of English & Hindi.

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, and senior leaders from the Tata group, with the national winners of the 2015-16 edition of ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on January 12, 2018.

The national winners of the 2015-16 edition of Tata Building India School Essay Competition got a chance to meet the Honorable President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi and got a once in lifetime opportunity to take a tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 12, 2018.

The young achievers were further felicitated by Mr. Harish Bhat, Brand Custodian, Tata Sons Ltd at a function held on the same day in New Delhi.

In the 6 th edition of the competition in the Gujarati language. Nearly 2 lakh students have participated across 14 cities (set of cities) and 500 schools. City level winners were felicitated in Ahmedabad. National winners were felicitated in New Delhi on 8 th Dec 2016.

2013-14

In the 5 th edition of the competition in the Gujarati language. Nearly 1.8 lakh students participate across 12 cities (set of cities) and 400 schools.

1) Ahmedabad-Sananad 2) Gandhinagar-Himmatnagar 3) Surat-Navsari 4) Mehsana-Palanpur 5) Bhavnagar 6) Rajkot 7) Bhuj
8) Bharuch-Ankleshwar 9) Baroda-Anand 10) Surendranagar-Limdi 11) Amreli-Junagadh 12) Jamnagar

The theme for 2013-14 competition was "Happy & Prosperous Nation".The City level winners were felicitated at City level function organized at Ahmedabad.

2012-13

The 4th edition of this competition in the Gujarati language was launched in October 2012. Nearly 1.6 lakh students participated across 12 cities (set of cities) and 400 schools.

The cities were include:

1) Ahmedabad 2) Surat 3) Baroda / Anand 4) VallabhVidya Nagar Rajkot 5) Valsad / Vapi / Navsari 6) Mehsana / Palanpur 7) Jamnagar / Mithapur
8) Porbunder 9) Bhavnagar

The theme for 2012-13 competition was "Science & Technology for India". The winners at city level were felicitated in Ahmedabad. National level winners are being identified, the winners will be felicitated in along with the winners of 2013-14.

 

2011-12

The 3rd edition of this competition in the Gujarati language was launched in October 2011. Nearly 1.6 lakh students participated across 12 group of cities and 400 schools.

The cities were include:

1) Ahmedabad 2) Surat 3) Baroda / Anand 4) VallabhVidya Nagar Rajkot 5) Valsad / Vapi / Navsari 6) Mehsana / Palanpur 7) Jamnagar / Mithapur
8) Porbunder 9) Bhavnagar

The theme for 2011-12 competition was "Clean and Green Nation”. The city level winners were felicitated at Ahmedabad in July 2012. The National winners got an opportunity to meet the President on 2nd April 2013 and also got a once in a life time opportunity to see and admire the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a special guided tour was arranged for them.

 

2010-11

The 2nd edition of this competition in the Gujarati language was launched in October. Nearly 2.61 lakh students participated across 12 group of cities and 400 schools.

2009-10

Tata group reached out to students in Gujarat for the first time in 2009-10 with this competition. The competition was conducted in over 400 Gujarati medium schools across 9 clusters of cities. 3 regional felicitation events were conducted for the city winners. Finally, 2009-10 state level winners from Gujarat along with winners from 6 languages were jointly felicitated at a gala function by Dr. E. Sreedharan at Delhi.
